This class is a deep dive into all things chair making. We will cover the whole range of topics relating to chairmaking and chair design while building a prototype chair as a class. Topics will include, tools, materials, various chairmaking techniques, design creation, ergonomics, model making, drafting, prototyping and processes for production. As a class we will brainstorm up a chair from scratch and collaborate on building it. This isn’t a class where you take home a chair, but you will take home a whole new awareness of the process and the confidence to explore and create your own ideas.
